Every year, around 50,600 American women are diagnosed with uterine cancer. It is the fourth most common cancer in women in the United States and it is the most commonly diagnosed gynecologic cancer. The CDC has stated that virtually every woman is at risk of developing uterine cancer and the risk increases with increasing age and onset of menopause. Most commonly, cancer affects the endometrial lining, but can also develop benign and malignant masses and tumours in other walls of the uterus.

Signs and symptoms of uterine cancer can include abnormal vaginal discharge, pressure or pain in the pelvis, abnormal bleeding longer or heavier than normal than normal cycles, or if bleeding occurs after going through menopause.

Traditional medical solutions to uterine cancer include surgery to remove cancer tissue in an operation; chemotherapy; high-dose radiation therapy using high-energy rays (similar to X-rays) to kill the cancer; hormone therapy to reduce hormones or blocks their action. Side effects of these cancer treatments include and are not limited to tiredness, upset stomach, loose bowels, serious fatigue, diarrhea is common. nausea and vomiting, skin changes, problems urinating, blood in the urine, an urge to urinate often, rectal irritation or bleeding, and radiation vaginitis causing anaemia (low red blood cells) and leukopenia (low white blood cells). These traditional medical therapies may temporarily alleviate cancer cells growth, development, and metastasis, however, their serious, destructive side effects can be equally as concerning as the primary cancer diagnosis.

Researchers have put forth a motion to use NATURAL methods to benefit the body’s natural N8 ability to regulate and kill cancer cells. A study from the April 2004 Gynecological Oncology Journal suggests that the endogenously produced cannabinoid, anandamide, induced signalled cell suicide in uterine cancer cells and interacts with CB1 and CB2 receptors in the endocannabinoid system to cause a protective effect against the spread and growth of cancer. Additionally to N8 production of anandamide, studies have determined CBD is able to prevent cell growth and induce cell death in cancer cells. Specifically, scientists suggest CBD is able to decrease tumour cell invasiveness and halts metastasis as mentioned in the Journal of National Cancer Institute Jan 2008.
Proper functioning of immune cells to modulate inflammation, cell death, and proper removal of foreign pathogens and waste is a key function of the body’s immune system in the battle against cancer. A study from the November 2017 Frontiers in Immunology Journal suggests that the plant-based molecules that naturally occur in the hemp plant can have a synergistic effect in the body that maximizes the effectiveness of the supplement, and may have the greater effect in performing cancer-fighting processes.
